Breast Cancer - is one of the most common cancers that affects women and people assigned female at birth (AFAB). Men are not excluded from this diagnosis. The most common risk factors associated with male breast cancer are age, exposure to higher levels of the hormone estrogen relative to the male hormone androgen, radiation, and a family history of female or male breast cancer. Breast cancer happens when cancerous cells in your breasts multiply and become tumors. About 80% of breast cancer cases are invasive, meaning a tumor may spread from your breast to other areas of your body.
This disease has made it's mark on us, on family members and on friends, too; hence, why a fund targeting breast cancer became important to Jon and I. The gravel roads I enjoyed riding to somewhat prepared me for the new route life threw me. Every oasis and checkpoint provided just enough support to keep me moving to the next stop and eventually to the finish line. That is what the Pink Gravel Fund is for, to provide support along the way and enhance the experience at the finish.
The Pink Gravel Fund hopes these grants offer some relief, some comfort, or provide a goal to attain a positive moment in the midst of a life changing diagnosis.

Grant Amount & Availability - The Pink Gravel Fund's yearly overall total available for grants will be reviewed annually. The individual's grant maximum amount will also be reviewed annually.
