Greetings!
We are just a few weeks out and while this is a "chill" ride, here is a bit of information you may find helpful.
Saturday, October 7, 2023
Please arrive by 9am so you have time to unload. If you did not initial or sign a waiver at registration, I will ask you to do so before the ride.
Helmets are a MUST.
At 9:30am we will line up for a picture, say a few words and roll out.
The route is mostly gravel/dirt and consists of one checkpoint located at the Marion Hill Lutheran Church. Which if you need to cut the route short, there are several options at and past the checkpoint.
The route will be posted to the website by Friday morning by 9am followed by an email that it is out. It is created via Ride With GPS. Cue sheet will be attached to the email as well.
We do ask folks ENJOY the ride and focus on social verses "being first". Take a couple moments to stop at an intersection and let others catch up. Take pictures! Don't just ride by and think you should stop, "Do It!"
Meal will consist of the traditional Chill Ride Chili with toppings/stir ins, cinnamon rolls, misc snacks and drinks. There will also be adult beverages.
Getting to the event:
See ya OCTOBER 7th!

Getting to the event:
- NEW STARTING LOCATION this year. We will gather at The Event Center at 540 8th Street, Dwight Kansas 66849. This new building has plenty of space inside and out! There are a few RV hook ups and lots of greenspace if you would like to camp the night before. The Event Center will be open for use of the bathrooms, kitchen or if you want to bring a cot and sleep inside.
- IMPORTANT your Google Map may say to take HWY 177 stretch from I-70 exit and turn on HWY 4 to Dwight. This section is anticipated to be closed. Crews have been working on 177 from I70 to Council Grove to add better shoulders, new road and safety since March 2022.
- If you come in via Council Grove, you will have no problem getting to Dwight taking 177 south to HWY 4 turn to Dwight. Paved road.
- If you come in via I-70 near Manhattan, you should stay on I-70 and watch for the 300 Exit at Grandview Plaza (near JC) for Hwy 57 into Dwight. Hwy 57 is a curvy, scenic drive that I take daily; just watch for deer, turkeys, cattle and slow moving tractors/trucks. Paved road.
- Some Pink Gravel merch may be available for purchase.
- Tip jar will be out if you want to toss a little $$ to say thank you. Not expected or required what so ever.
- HAVE SOME CHILL FUN!
- Registration closes at midnight of October 5th. If by chance you have a friend or family member that wants to ride but make a day off decision, that is fine. Send a message you want to come via email at pinkgravelrider@gmail.com. They are welcome even after deadline has passed. This registration is mostly to get an idea of quantity of food an beverage to have ready.
- NEW - we have four pull through campsites available to book. Visit our HipCamp page. Search Pink Gravel Campsites.
See ya OCTOBER 7th!
